Aaron Damus

Aaron began studying classical piano & vocal opera at age 5 and Chinese Martial arts at age 7. He began extensive studies in Salsa in 2005 and Gymnastics in 2007. Other skills include Swimming during his early college years and Rock Climbing.

Amanda Gill

Amanda grew up studying and performing ballet and modern dance in the DC Metropolitan area. She began to focus on Afro-Cuban and Salsa dance in 2001. She has trained with dance masters Aramis Pazos and Oscar Rousseaux and has studied contemporary dance, folkloric dance, and choreography for a semester at the Instructors Arts School in Havana, Cuba.

Ana Masacote

Ana is co-director of Masacote Entertainment. She began her formal dance training in folklórico at the age of 5 and Salsa at the age of 15 and has since traveled to 30+ countries across 5 continents and countless cities in between for teaching and performance.

Joel Masacote

Joel Masacote teaches Level 6 Salsa classes, and footwork, musicality, and guaguanco movement workshops at The Masacote School. Combining his infectious passion for music and with his love for dancing, he teaches students to interpret music and connect with the feeling of each song. Joel began training in music in 1986. In 1995, he began his formal training in salsa dance and began to merge his skills in music and dance. He has since traveled to 30+ countries across 5 continents and countless cities in between for teaching and performance. His impeccable ear for music and background in martial arts have earned him respect amongst his peers...

Maylena Chaviano

Maylena Chaviano studied at the Instructors Art School in Havana Cuba, where she trained in contemporary dance, ballet, choreography, history of dance, and Cuban folklore. At the age of 16, she began producing events at the State of Havana level and was in charge of students at some of the most important Art Schools, including ENA, Circus, Escuela de Espectaculos.

Olawale Oladehin

Olawale Oladehin (affectionately known as Wale) assists Salsa classes and teaches Hip Hop when in town. He is currently working abroad in London but will be back in Boston by 2013. Wale joined the Masacote team in 2010.
