One of the feature works in the Fantagious Theater production, Afterlife has been lauded around the world as the performance that will shape the future of Salsa Dance Theater. This dramatic choreographic masterpiece explores the emotions of love and loss, death, deepest grief, and celebration of life as we venture into the afterlife.
Here we experience the phenomenon of crow funerals as a family of crows come alive to help a loved one make the emotional journey of life after death and help her soulmate overcome his grief.
Ana and Joel Masacote's very first choreography idea, the work was originally choreographed as a couple piece in 2003 but was re-created in 2008 to new Ritmo Masacote music for the full company.
