Music in the Fantagious theater production is played Live by the Ritmo Masacote Latin Jazz Ensemble.
Founded in 2006 by piano extraordinaire Joel "Masacote" Massicot, Ritmo Masacote is a 10-piece Latin Jazz Ensemble Powerhouse lauded by critics around the world. The ensemble released its debut album, titled MASACOTE, in 2006, and its newest sensation, Fantagious, in 2008, both garnering rave reviews from the media.
Ritmo Masacote creates a unique blend of Salsa and Jazz for dancers and hardcore music aficionados alike. In its repertoire, you can find a mix of high tempo and upbeat Salsa to smooth, melodic Latin Jazz. On board with the band are Grammy-winning NYC percussionist Pablo "Chino" Nuñez, NYC bassist Panagiotis Andreou, and a slew of Boston's finest led by musical director Joel "Masacote" Massicot.
